Former Labour MSP quits party in protest against benefit cuts. Neil Findlay said he could no longer remain a member of a party that ‘lied to the British people at the last election’.

    They chose not to divulge what they were planning. However anyone who will have been watching Starmer since his election as Labour leader will have seen the rightward lurch under his leadership, the shredding of common sense policies and an evasiveness when asked about issues like disability rights and disabled people being forced to work.

    The warning signs were there.

  4. He was a contender for the Scottish leadership back in the Corbynite days. Out of Holyrood and active politics these days owing to family caring responsibilities. Doubt he’ll ever come back.

  5. Interesting it’s only the former MSPs that have the integrity to call this out. We have such a deficit of talent and integrity in this parliament. And that goes for all parties but definitely both the red and blue tories in particular.

  6. I disagree with Mr Findlay’s political view on independence, but I admire that he has principles and is sticking to them.

  7. My condolences to Hulk, Sea_Owl and the other sock puppets that poster has. Oh and that astrosurfer randominium or whatever he’s called. For spamming tirelessly to make us all ‘go labour’ when even the MSP’s are leaving.
