So I just moved to Finland and found these on the wall could someone explain what they are for?

  1. RJ45 network ports for cabled connectivity to your devices. Faster than WIFI and more reliable. You plug your router to the wall cabinet (find this). Then plug in your other devices into these wall ports with a network cable.

  2. Outlets for computer network cabling (Ethernet).

    You should find a patch panel somewhere in an elctrical cabinet, where you can connect those outlets together with your own switch/router.

  3. Ethernet for internet access, the router is likely in your electricity cabin

  4. You have them installed by default in your houses in Finland?

  5. I feel old. Do people not know about ethernet cables anymore?

  6. Note: Always use router in the middle even though you would use the cable from socket. That’s better for your security.
