  1. Recently i have requested the help of a company for a leaky heater pipe, no longer than 1 CM, so a small work. I understand that costs are not measured with time of work, but fixing the issue, so the people that came said the cost is 300 EUR. i said okay on one condition: this will be guaranteed and that if anything they will come back if the leak persist. i was assured that this is the case. Long story short; the leak continued, they came on Wednesday the 12th, i tried calling and they did not answer, Friday the 14th i have called their business number and the receptionist said they will come Monday the 17th. Came Monday, no show.

i call again on Tuesday, the receptionist said they did not want to come again before you get a clearance from the municipality to shut the central heater down in the building so they can do the work. i said that is bullshit because when the people were here, we called the syndicate together and they were directed to where they can shut off the water in the apartment only, without the need to do so for the whole building. i asked for a refund and told her i feel that i do not trust them anymore since they are changing what they said left and right. she said she will ask her boss and let me know asap.

i started to worry here, so i dug deeper in the company, and i found out that they are a scam:

    – company : [https://ontstoppingsdienst-eddy.be/ontstopping-hasselt/](https://ontstoppingsdienst-eddy.be/ontstopping-hasselt/)

    – company fake reviews on site: 4.7 (144 reviews)

    – actual trust pilot reviews: 1.4 (around 60 reviews)

Sadly i was only looking for the service on google initially without digging deeper, my fault there, and the fake reviews got me.

now we are at the situation where i asked a refund and it was refused, and i was blunt and said that i will take legal action and they are a scam, to which the dull receptionist defended and said we are a great business… you can imagine the automatic anger where i switch to bad mouthing her and the business (regrettably as i try to be calm at all costs…)

i know i can report them to the police and nothing happens, and there are the general forms you can send online etc. but i was wondering, as per the picture i have posted, can’t this be reported more from a side of a scam that should be addressed by the anti-fraud section of the police ? they have obviously deceived people. those 144 reviews are not showing anywhere, nor are clickable.

i work with lawyers as a consultant and they told me we can take action but its a lot of work for little benefit, maybe closing their business but that’s it. to me, that is the goal to be honest, why should anyone be scammed further ? 300 EUR wont kill me, but it might be the last resort for someone to fend off the month and eat…

any advice on what is the best legal revenge one can take on other than the obvious and what i mentioned above would be appreciated. thank you in advance to ya’ll.

  2. Paste the link of Google Maps here and ask Reddit to review bomb them ?

  3. I don’t understand the definition of scam here. Sounds to me like you contacted an amateur. Does it really work that way that you can verbally agree about costs and aftersales?
