Cost of living: Food costs rise as farmers struggle

  1. Farmers have said they are struggling to absorb rising costs as food prices for consumers continue to climb.
NFU Cymru, which represents many farmers and growers in Wales, said fertiliser costs had doubled in a year, leaving some farmers “struggling to pay bills”.

  2. Farmers usually always vote Tory. You get what you vote for. One day the sheep in this country might actually wake up.

  3. Why do none of these inflation articles mention loose fiscal policy, increased monetary supply & quantitative easing from central banks and governments?

If you spend 2 years creating billions of new pounds a week and issuing them willy nilly then obviously the pre existing pounds are going to be less valuable.

Economic journalists (who presumably know a little bit about economics) blaming it on pay rises or a war that started 3 weeks ago are being completely disingenuous.

What I wonder about is why journalists who clearly know better write this stuff?

*I’ve made this comment before but the BBC and the media in general keep proving my point by printing these stories day after day*

  4. I just bought two 250ml of lurpack spreadable (in Spain). They’ve gone up 15c each since last fucking week. So it’s not just the UK.
