Absence of diabetes awareness in Germany (Aachen)…

  1. In the 90s and 2000s shelves were full with “diabetes friendly” health foods.
If I close my eyes I can still see their packaging, ruining the latter part of my childhood with false promises.

They were all pretty horrible, overpriced and basically a scam since they didn’t really work.

Thankfully they mostly died out. No marketing BS can replace learning about the glycaemic index and knowign your own body.

  2. I don’t know about Aachen, but usually supermarkets have plenty of sugar free products. Even confectioners often have a selection for diabetics. I’m surprised that the shops you went to not only don’t have a diabetics section but that the employees don’t know about sugar free products is wild to me. For what did you ask exactly?
