2. How about we just stop having award shows. Stop handing out awards for doing your chosen career. Just do the damn job and collect your paycheck like everyone else. You aren’t special and receive way too much praise.

3. I read the article and I don’t understand what Cate is getting at. Yes the award shows are televised but not all of them. Also, the afterparties aren’t televised. So what is she getting at? They can still party and they do, usually at other actors/producers/directors homes or mansions.

8. I think they can still televise the awards ceremonies, but the runtime of these shows most certainly be cut down. I’d love it if award shows could finish in 2 hours maximum.

   I might be in the minority, but I liked the Oscars ceremonies that had no host. They used the TV screens and the presenters to transition between categories and segments. It was efficient and rather seamless.

If there’s an interesting acceptance speech, I’ll watch it later on YouTube (I typically never do this myself). Who the fuck needs to spend four hours watching a fucked talk show with people wearing wardrobes that cost as much as my house?
