  1. Good. And regardless of what happens going forward, a fair amount of it won’t return. The bridges have been burned.

It is also not completely a “Buy Canadian” movement. It’s more a “Buy Canadian, Bye American” movement. People are buying Canadian first, then not-American for everything else possible. Some things just aren’t possible to get from a Canadian source. Grapes in the winter for example. We’ve been getting them from Peru & Mexico mostly although we did get some nice dark grapes from Namibia a couple of weeks ago.

Elbows Up and be ready to Drop the Gloves.

  2. I’m an American and i don’t even want to buy American anymore

  3. It’s Buy Canadian in name, but ultimately it’s a “don’t buy American” movement.

Once agent orange really puts the screws to Canada’s economy april 2nd, people will begin to pick the cheapest option available – Canadian, European, Mexican, whatever.

There will still be enough anti-US sentiment to drive the american sales down and dissuade retailers from choosing those products though. And due to the natural geographical barriers between Canada and Europe/Mexico, in theory the Canadian products will still be cheaper.

  4. Rather than retaliatory tariffs I wonder how effective it would be to simply require all US products to have a big…

WARNING! MADE IN USA label on them and let consumers deal with it.

  5. It’s only going to get worse, a lot of the people I deal with professionally ask if the widget comes from the US.

If it does they want something else.

  6. Many American products are shit due to greed and lack of regulation. This admin will pull all regulation and American products will kill even more people even faster.

  7. Have a second bite, Canada. You guys look hungry and we have a lot of pigs in monocles and top hats over here to make some bacon out of.

  8. Oh no! Whoever could have predicted this. What an absolute tragedy. As a Canadian I’m very sad.

    So sad.

    Really. Sad.

  9. I’m doing my part!

Though all these Hawkins Cheezies are gonna make me fat(ter)…

  10. Canada went along with the US on tariffs against certain Chinese products like EVs. now that China has retaliated with 100% tariffs on canola, it would be great to see Canada lift those tariffs to get China to back down and watch Trump blowup.

  11. Buying Canadian is pretty easy, my wife and I have been doing it for years. Just skip the Walmarts and start buying from local butchers, bakeries, and independent grocers.

  12. Anybody have a list of everyday Canadian products we can buy?

  13. Ontario PM was interviewed on Fox news when the anchor literally said : the fact that Canadians are against being part of the great USA was so rude he was getting offended… That’s what happens when you’ve been told that you were the center of the universe all your life.

  14. > “Canada’s a large export market for us,” said Mr. Yarbrough. “Let’s figure out ways to move forward and amicably.”

Mr. Yarbrough, I suggest you go talk to your President.

  15. Canada strong! (As I drink my JP Wiser from my home in Pennsylvania)

  16. I’m not just boycotting American goods in stores, I’m consuming less American content.

Anything I can do to help make the USA fade into obscurity.

  17. Traitor Trump is betraying America by deliberately destroying the economy and people’s livelihoods.

  18. As an American, happy to see it happening.

While fellow politicians and elites are happy to guide Trump through all these changes and taxation, gleefully, the only way this truly rebalances is a large consumer and world commerce shift to offset.

In short, it needs to severely financially hurt those pushing the change. And as a side-effect, it needs to greatly sour public opinion of the bad choices politicians are pushing.

Sometimes you have to give people enough rope to find out on their own.

  19. I just hate how Trump could literally end all of this tomorrow. Obviously he can’t contain the fallout from already having done this, but he could course correct, but he wont.

  20. Good! I know a lot of my friends here in the states are doing the same. I don’t know if it will have an impact, but I have started checking everything I buy now and replacing as much as possible with products made anywhere outside America. I know if enough people do just a little bit as they can it will add up to a big difference. A lot of people keep telling us Americans on here to stop saying things and start doing things. I hope people are listening. Our spending is just as important as what is happening in Canada too. We also have power and we need to use it.

  21. What Canadian stuff can I buy as an American? I’m also striking American businesses.

  22. As an American I support your efforts and I’m still buying and will continue to buy my favorite Canadian whiskey.

  23. Do what you need Canada. This American asks that you particularly punish the states that voted for Trump, especially swing states that swung dumb.

  24. Everybody should support the Country that they live in that helps with jobs and gives opportunities to ppl in your community.

  25. As they should. We do not deserve their business and I really want to leave but am in no financial position to do so

  26. Fuck tRump. I hope all the other countries isolate US and suffer “hugely”. I know myself and family will suffer but worth it to bring down the orange tyrant and his boss.

  27. and just to remind everyone, we aren’t doing this because of the tariffs. we fucking loathe trump and his sickening disrespect, and threats to our sovereignty. THAT is why we’re boycotting. fuck dump and every single person who voted for him.
