MedLife, the largest private medical services network in Romania and the only company with domestic capital among the top private medical services operators, is entering a new market by acquiring the majority stake in the share capital of the All Clinic group from the Republic of Moldova.
“We are proud that MedLife, the leader of the Romanian medical services market, is once again breaking borders and bringing Romanian capital to the Republic of Moldova. We will use this strategic move to get to know a new market and to study the possibilities of scaling the business. We strongly believe that the Republic of Moldova has potential, especially the market in Chisinau which has great potential being, practically, the second Romanian-speaking city after Bucharest. A development in the Republic of Moldova is also a first test of our ability to replicate our broadband know-how towards the East on one or more business lines such as clinics, laboratories, hospitals or dentistry”, declared Mihai Marcu, President and CEO of MedLife Group.
This is the second entry into a new market for the largest private healthcare network in Romania after announcing its first international transaction in 2019: the acquisition of a majority stake in the Rózsakert Medical Center group of companies in Hungary. For MedLife, the leader of private healthcare in Romania, and the first local healthcare operator to surpass the 500 million euro mark, testing new markets is a natural move.
“We are honored to take this step and join the largest private healthcare network in Romania. The acquisition announced today is not a simple transaction, but is also the incorporation of a well-capitalized strategic partner, with a healthy and sustainable approach in which we strongly believe. We will move forward following the same direction, the strategic objective being expansion and accelerated growth on the Moldovan market,” said Aurica Roman, co-founder of All Clinic.
Currently, MedLife Group owns the strongest diagnostic and treatment network in Romania, with over 6.5 million unique patients who have used prevention, wellness, treatment and hospitalization services nationwide.
