Judge Blocks Trump EPA From Clawing Back $14 Billion in Climate Grants

1. >United States District Judge Tonya S. Chutkan on Tuesday temporarily blocked the Trump Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from halting $14 billion in grants that the Biden administration had awarded to three climate groups.

   >The judge also stopped Citibank — the holder and administrator of the grant funds — from transferring the money to anyone, including the government. “At this juncture, EPA Defendants have not sufficiently explained why unilaterally terminating Plaintiffs’ grant awards was a rational precursor to reviewing” the green bank program, Chutkan wrote in the 23-page opinion.

   At this point, the entire country is being held together by the uncompromised judges of the court system. Guess we’ll see how long this can last.

2. It would be great if the private schools and institutions could lawyer up like this to stop the essential discontinuation of NIH grant reviews and specious funding cancellations.

3. Held together by uncompromising judges? Great to see them doing their jobs but…. Who will enforce their orders. Tronald Dump and his MAGATs are just ignoring judicial orders left right and center.

   The legal system in the USA is now officially a meaningless toothless tiger (nah raccoon) that the MAGAts laugh at.
