I never realized that ” happiness ranking is a joke” untill I came to finland. This ranking is just as bullshit as finnish economy. Give downvote If you want, but fact is fact. This ranking proves that happiness ranking is of no help
I predict the usual complaints and whines so I’m just saying: this is about how successful a country is in fulfilling its residents needs to live a good life. Not about parties and parades and amount of fireworks.

Wondering if the question is asked to the massive amount of unemployed people struggling in Finland…
I’m poor as shit and miserable because I’m taxed and regulated to death.
But maybe it’s better than in other countries
This is a funny one, **Helped a stranger** ranked 77. I would say a lot of the ranking is fairly true, **Perceptions of corruption** 2, **Social support** 2, **Inequality** 2…that’s all a fair assessment.
Only 1 million citizens on the brink of poverty isn’t bad

Living in Finland as an immigrant for the past three years and can say I am super happy here. Thank you Finland 🇫🇮
It’s miserable here but that’s just how life is. I’m sure it’s worse somewhere else.

I came to this sub because … Well, because I’m currently living in TX (US citizen, born in Louisiana), and my husband, who is 1/4 Finnish, and I both want to leave.
A quarter Finnish is a couple generations removed, so I don’t expect any easy entry, but we have to start somewhere when looking into where we could possibly raise two young children. We both genuinely don’t want to raise our children in the US anymore.
If there is a better sub to ask questions, please let me know. Otherwise, can anyone tell me some basic things I would need to know if we were to visit Finland and potentially plan to move there?
Finland is an amazing country with amazing people. Every country has its problems, but things just work in Finland.
