US utilities added 9 billion cubic feet of gas to storage during the week ending March 14, 2025, exceeding market expectations of a 3 billion cubic feet build.
This marked the first increase in US natural gas stocks since November 2024.
A 28 bcf rise in the South Central region more than offset withdrawals in the East (-12 bcf), Midwest (-4 bcf), and Pacific (-3 bcf).
Storage levels are now 26.8% lower than the same period last year and 10% below the five-year average.
