  1. Remember Eisenhower’s warning about the military-industrial complex? Just wait until they see their earnings disappear.

  2. It might not be obvious from the headline, but those fighters are $150M EACH, with components made in all 50 states. A squadron is 18-24 aircraft, so that’s $2.7B-$3.6B for each squadron, of revenue lost for the US. Canada alone was going to order 88 of the fighters.

  3. Yes… please continue to fuck with the money.

    I’m here for the drama.

  4. Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the military contractors! 😭

  5. > In Canada, where Trump has launched a trade war and has threatened economic coercion to make it the 51st American state, new Prime Minister Mark Carney has asked Defense Minister Bill Blair to review its purchase of F-35s. Canada has been a partner with the U.S. in developing the fighter.

**Threatened?** The **trade war and tariffs ARE** the economic coercion in action. This isn’t some vague future possibility – it’s already happening.

The playbook is obvious: **economic pressure → weakened sovereignty → forced dependency**. The F-35 review isn’t just about defense spending – it’s about whether Canada will **continue funding and arming a country that is actively trying to strong-arm it into submission**.

At what point do we stop pretending this is just “tough negotiations” and call it what it is? **Economic warfare to assert dominance over an “ally.”**
