Hey everyone! I’m moving into a new apartment in Germany from abroad. The landlord told me to choose an electricity provider, but since I don’t speak German and they (I’m renting an apartment from a company) don’t speak English, it was hard to understand every detail.
I’ve found a provider through check24, and can register with them online easily. But before I do, I wanted to ask for thought on a couple questions I have:Do I have to notify my landlord of which provider I’ve chosen?Since I’ll be paying a warm rent, which includes the nebenkosten, I’m confused as to how they will know who/where to pay the electricity bill. Will the bills arrive in my PO box or not?During the registration process for the ele.prov., do I enter my personal details or the landlord’s?
Thanks a bunch everyone!
EDIT: The provider in question is [Vattenfall](https://www.vattenfall.de/).

Does your contract say whether the Nebenkosten includes electricity? Normally electricity is not included (which is why your landlord asked you to sign up with a provider yourself), but check your contract for details. If this is the case, you would sign up under your own name (not your landlord’s), and you do not need to inform the landlord of your choice.
