  1. travel advice, not travel warning

edit: can someone explain why I get downvoted for pointing out key facts which the article failed to mention correctly?
(I am ok with downvotes, but I would like to understand why)

  2. I’m an American about to visit my home state from my residence in Germany. Constantly thinking of how many problems could happen. I’m happy to be living here instead of there.

  3. In the article “this is not a travel warning”

    Fucking I love Reddit.

  4. From the very article that none of you are going to read anyway:

“But they also stressed that this change does not count as an official travel warning.”

Let’s hold this sham of an administration accountable for treating guests of our country far more harshly than previous years while not reducing our own credibility by spreading outright lies.

  5. No they didn’t.

    >The ministry said that neither approval through the U.S. ESTA system nor a U.S. visa means people will be granted entry every time.

    >”The final decision on whether a person can enter the U.S. lies with the U.S. border authorities,” a spokesperson for Germany’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

    >But they also stressed that this change does not count as an official travel warning.

  6. Yawn, from the linked article:

“The ministry {…} stressed that this change does not count as an official travel warning.”

  7. This is catching on. Who’s gonna be the next country ?

  8. “This change is not an official warning.” Straight from the article itself. Propaganda bullshit on Reddit once again. All the “warning” is is telling people you can get arrested in the USA for not following the law. Click bait bullshit.

  9. Canada didn’t need a travel warning, we just said “fuck you” and canceled our trips.

We all need to remember that Trump is a failed business man. With many many Bankruptcies in his name. He’s treating the US as a business and he will surely fuck that up too.

  10. in the video it says

*But they also stressed that this change* ***DOES NOT COUNT*** *AS an official travel warning*

    am feeling clickbaited

  11. As concerning as the individual cases of foreign travelers being detained for arbitrary reasons are, I don’t think it will impact 99.9% of travelers who are lawfully entering the United States.

  12. My favorite part is: A ministry spokesperson told the German newspaper *Der Spiegel*: “The final decision on whether a person can enter the United States rests with the American border authorities. **But this is no surprise; it is the same in German.**”

  13. Sounds normal. Whats the change or concern? If you’ve traveled abroad this is how it goes.

  14. I’m confused, the title says Germany issued a travel warning but the article says…

“But they also stressed that this change does not count as an official travel warning.”

  15. “The final decision on whether a person can enter the U.S. lies with the U.S. border authorities,” a spokesperson for Germany’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday.”

Has this not been the case the entire time?

  16. As a U.S. citizen from a city that heavily relies on tourism I’m begging everyone, please don’t visit. Send these A-holes a message that this shit hurts us economically. This orange turd doesn’t give a shit what U.S. citizens say or do and protesting won’t do anything. The only solution is to hit the billionaires in their pockets! If everyone would stop spending money as much as possible it might make a difference here. But not some one day blackout. We need a world wide stop spending freeze for 6 months!

  17. America needs to hurt for how the fourth reich has treated its allies, best way to hurt America is to stop giving them your money and time. I say this as a very disgruntled American. FUCK TRUMP

  18. A French doctor was coming to a conference in Houston and they denied him entry because he had negative stuff about Trump on his phone.

There is no way I would travel to a country that had to read my texts and had the right to send me home for my political feelings. Especially on a trip I was paying for. I would give my money to a country that understood this.

Jamaica is beautiful and so much fun. Go there instead.

  19. This makes sense. Even people who have alien resident cards (green cards) and/or who were naturalized citizens of the USA have been denied entry and/or deported. I’ve heard from a few people in that situation who are reluctant to leave the USA for fear that they will not be allowed back home (in the USA).

I’d love to see Canada institute such a warning.

  20. I hope this isn’t a sign of something really bad about to happen

  21. Germany. Germany. What is a country that we never have friction with unless Trump is in office, Alex?

  22. When the Germans think we should be treated with caution that is a huge red flag

  23. This is like the part of 12 Angry Men when they all turn their back on the bigoted dude

  24. Now imagine all the travel warnings about to come out for Americans traveling to other western nations.  It will look like it should have been written in crayon and say something about the country being overrun with migrants ready to rape and kill you, blah, blah blah,.

  25. Good. This should be a common warning every government puts out there. We’re told not to travel to places like Russia because you can be detained for minor offenses (or whatever the Hell reason they want really). So the US should be treated the same way.

I feel bad for cities that will be hurt by losing tourism dollars. I feel bad for people around the world who want to experience some of the beautiful and fun parts of our country.

It’s just not worth the risk with the current administration.

  26. ITT: Trump supporters being pedantic about a warning vs. advisory in order to downplay how shitty and sketchy it is for people outside of the US to visit right now.

Regardless of a tornado watch or warning, you should still not be having a cookout like business as usual. It’s like these MAGAts heard the wrong level of severity warning and invalidated the whole red flag in general. “Oh they said tornados have touched down when all I see are funnel clouds! We must be in the clear to drive to the store!”

  27. Honestly there need travel warnings for people living in the US.

  28. I think this is a manipulative marketing strategy by the newspaper to increase subscribers by exploiting the global situation. The title and content should not be different.
