  1. Thousands gather in Istanbul, protesting mayor’s arrest; solidarity shines bright.

  2. Thousands protested in Istanbul for second night against İmamoğlu’s arrest.

  3. Not only Istanbul, but also other cities like Izmir, Ankara, Adana etc. My people are finally waking up and the opposition controls those cities as well which is a good thing. Hopefully this time we will make history! The end of Erdogan is near.

  4. Alright just so we are being factual, he’s not arrested. He’s in custody.

I know, but still. There’s enough misinformation going around. Such a righteous cause shouldn’t be diminished by it.

  5. Sending energy and blessing to Turkish people who stand up against their dictator!

Unfortunately we have a dictator too in Hungary.

  6. Really surprised this happened and the protests aren’t being squashed.

  7. Is anyone in Turkey or with access to Turkish media able to corroborate the claims of [this video](https://youtu.be/VtluiyhVvtI)? I want to make sure I’m not unknowingly only getting one side of the story.

  8. We won’t let them arrest the mayor of Istanbul unjusticefully!

  9. Currently, at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, students are facing severe repression. Incidents include the use of plastic bullets, toxic gas bombs, and the illegal practice of mixing pepper spray with high-pressure water from water cannons (TOMA). Access to and from the university campus has been blocked, effectively trapping students inside. Students attempting to escape the gas are being detained by the police. There are reports of severe injuries caused by plastic bullets, with some students fainting and urgently requiring medical assistance. This is just one of the protest sites, specifically the METU campus.

  10. Most ironical double standard. So we preach for the opposition in Turkey but then you shame the opposition in Romania?

More onto that is the fast tracking of Ukraine into the EU, while you have Serbia, Macedonia and even Turkey at the same spot being rejected for years.
