You can pull it off and behind there’s a chain you can hang a key from. It has a lock on the outside that can be unlocked. So if you need to let someone in to do some work you can just hang a key there to give them access.

This is done by putting it into that small thing on the door (RSA encryption). From this side you can just open and put the key in there, it is the landlord’s RSA public key. But from the other side, noone can access except the landlord, because he has the RSA private key. He can then get your key to open the door.
And why do we bother with two types of locks, both AES and RSA? It is because RSA cannot fit a washing machine, only the small key.
