Slept 4hr 1min according to my watch, surprisingly not tired. I think just knowing it’s Friday is natural energy!!
Off up to Sheffield after work, to spend a weekend playing Arkham Horror with some friends. Apparently, I’m playing a character who has a magic trumpet. Wondering where best to stop on the A1 to get dinner.
We sold 70 crusty cobs in 90 mins at our country pub yesterday. That’s one every 1.3 minutes! Absolute scenes. Spring is well and truly here
Gosh these mornings are a struggle this week. I’ve been late to work even at my home desk every day this week. Stayed up to watch all of Adolescence on Tuesday and it’s really changed my body clock. Also hate getting up. Mother arrived yesterday, father today so trying to deal with them. Nice meal out planned tonight. Wouldn’t mind if my legs would accept a run while it’s sunny at lunch time round the park.
What’s this shit with releasing the season 2 finale of Severance a day early to US watchers? Are we not in the digital age already?
I’m WFH and there’s actually nothing to do. So I’m spending the morning watching the WRC Kenya. I’ve had worse mornings
Sat in the park because I’ve got a meeting at my daughter’s school at 9.15 and by the time I get home, it’s time to come back (it’s only 10 minutes normally, but traffic is bonkers from 8.30 on. I have to drop our daughter in or she won’t go, so I do it early!).
Edit – also no sleep. Cold much better, but had a huge coughing fit which caused me to throw up and ruined my throat for the night (so sore). Still an improvement. One bad coughing fit in 24 hours!
I know it’s Spring because the Met Office switched on their pollen alerts.
This is my last weekend off forever because I am retiring* next Friday. For some reason I am finding this all really stressful so I think this weekend I will just get in some solid practice pottering. Or should I go full pensioner and be at the supermarket at 0800 on Saturday, getting myself a convoy by cruising the aisles as slowly as possible with just two items in the largest trolley known to man? Then repeat by hitting the roads on Sunday on a motorway near you at peak spring picnic time, hogging the centre lane stuck in fourth gear with a random indicator on and two novelty dog cushions on the parcel shelf so I can’t see you flashing?
* Unless I get bored like the Stones in which case this is my first retirement
Gotta work, but it’s overtime so I can leave when the work is done 😎 Got a friend coming over this evening to watch the Severance finale. Gonna have pizzas and a few drinks.
i went to see some blossom yesterday and it was wonderful, so today i am full of all of the joys of spring! got plenty of work, interview prep and cleaning to do, but i am currently happy and content so having a “not worrying about anything” friday!
Still recovering from having paid £78 to have two sets of keys cut yesterday.
This morning I’m taking the aforementioned keys to the letting agents, a load of stuff to the charity shop, and posting some orders. The rest of the day will be cleaning the house from top to bottom. I may treat myself to some sushi later on after all that excitement!
Friday? Check.
Birthday? Check.
Half day? Check.
Check? Check.
Day off today, got 9 hours sleep last night so I’m feeling fairly fresh. Am off to a food tasting today (the supplier did minimum tables of 4 so I have been coopted by my brother to be a seat filler) then back home for work tomorrow. Should be pretty good although lots of driving.
Thank goodness it’s Friday. Just been out to see if I can spot the first violets of the year in our garden but no joy so far. Hope everyone has a good one.
Spring in the air and sand eels in the water. Time to go fishingggg.
Happy Friday! 🌞 Where I live, it’s surprisingly not freezing for once, yesterday was beautiful, so no complaints from me for Thursday Complaints Thread ha! I wish we had this kind of weather whole season. Spent the day in the office, grabbed lunch at a bar with my teammates, and later met up with one of them for a bit in the evening.
Today, I’m WFH, quiet day hopefully as some people are off due to holidays/annual leave so today I need to tie up loose ends since I’m off on annual leave all next week. I need to make sure my teammates have enough notes to give them context where things are up to, especially for my supervisor and leave myself reminders so I don’t return to chaos and I know what I need to do when I’m back.
Hoping for a smooth workday so I can wrap up early then it’s some self-paced studying and finally starting the new season of **Reacher** tonight.
Dunno if I’ve got a cold, or if it’s just stress or if the covid has finally got me but I’ve felt unwell all week. Awful migraine on Tuesday, I don’t know how people who suffer from chronic migraines cope. Still feeling shit today. Can’t afford to take time off work, and even if I was off work I wouldn’t be able to rest because in my household You’re Not Really ill unless you’ve projectile vomiting and bedridden.
