Everton forward Jesper Lindstrom came up against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal for Denmark on Thursday evening.

It has been a mixed season for Lindstrom, who is finding himself in need of a huge final two months with his future still uncertain.

David Moyes inherited the Dane from Sean Dyche’s tenure, but Everton are under no obligation to keep the 25-year-old beyond his loan deal.

Lindstrom would like to remain at Everton beyond the summer, with the Dane potentially returning to Napoli.

But he is going to have to show more for the Toffees having only returned a single assist all season in the Premier League.

Denmark fans have now shared their thoughts on his latest performance after Daniel Agger praised Lindstrom just last week.

The Danish media were impressed with Lindstrom’s performance on Thursday evening as they won by a single goal.

Lindstrom could be back in action on Sunday, as Denmark face Portugal in the second leg of their Nations League quarter-final.

As well as the media, the Danish fans watching the game were also delighted with what they saw from the 25-year-old midfielder.

Denmark fanComment@reviewsbyryIsaksen, Mæhle and Lindstrom never disappoint me.@superligaen_argIsaksen and Lindstrom were unstoppable.@bif5000I especially love the speed that Isaksen and Lindstrom bring.@clauskristense3Yes, a fantastic effort – but Eriksen is the weakest link – not only because of his poor penalties and lousy corner kicks, but he unfortunately slows down the game. Isaksen and Lindstrom are fantastic.@nikolaimNice to see Lindstrom showing some of his old self. When he does, he is undoubtedly justified.@utdjensenGreat to see them playing with courage and belief in things. Isaksen and Lindstrom bring a great dynamic on the wings, and Isaksen has a better grip on Mendes than Salah could boast.

Having struggled this season, Lindstrom has said he’s training extra hard in an attempt to impress Moyes before the summer.

But he is going to have to carry this form back to England if he is to earn himself a future with Everton.

Lindstrom responds to unwelcome goalscoring record

Moyes has demanded more from Lindstrom in recent weeks as he awaits the winger’s first goal in an Everton shirt.

However, it is not just Everton who are waiting for the 25-year-old to find the back of the net.

The Danish outlet Tipsbladet raised the question to the player himself on Thursday night as the victory over Portugal marked his 77th consecutive game without a goal.

“It’s just great that there’s that publicity. Bad publicity is better than no publicity. It just shows that there are people who are keeping an eye on my statistics,” he replied.

“I would like to score some goals, that’s clear.”

Jack Harrison has also struggled for goals at Everton this season, which is why the pair are fighting for their futures on Merseyside.
