  1. Tariffs at 1000% will make everyone richer! Trump wouldn’t lie right?????

  2. Wait, that can’t be true, Karoline Leavitt says tariffs are a tax cut. LOL.

  3. America, maybe you should have elected this butcher as president instead? It looks like he knows his stuff.

  4. I’d love to see the math equation to those who think it’s the exporters/foreign nations that pays the tariffs.

  5. And then farms will reappear in this Nation in response, as we can grow enough domestically to feed a significant portion of the world , we do not need outside meat or produce . Tariffs just Kickstart the process.

  6. Does this defeat the argument that raising minimum wage does indeed raise prices too?

  7. It is crazy that “tariffs” has turned into a debate, as if it is some mystery term, yet there’s a literal definition of what it is.

I don’t understand how some don’t understand, lol

I just hate we all suffer due to some needing to learning the hard way.

  8. Sounds like the butcher selling domestic beef is going to become more popular. He might even raise his prices to meet demand. That will increase demand for US produced beef. One goal of the tariff has been met.

    Consumer does pay for it.

More importantly, I’m going to have to pay attention when I go to Costco today and see where my meat actually comes from.

  9. If the price of international goods like beef goes up 25 percent, I would suspect that local producers may or may not keep prices the same.

If 90 percent of your beef is 5$/pound. Then i as a US producer will just match their price and make my extra 25%.

  10. “You on board with that?”

It doesn’t matter one way or another, reporter.

  11. buy Texas beef…our beef prices have not gone up or will go up…

  12. I wonder… let’s play this out…

Tariffs lead to a situation which the price of the import is on par with making it here in the states.

We are now making these things here in the states with union employees being paid well including Heath and retirement benefits.

Does the price of the good ever come down or are we expecting the new found employment to bring adequate wage increases to afford the price of all this made in America stuff?

Doesn’t that then also come with a positive feedback loop with the price of goods made here continuing to increase?

    Or…

Perhaps they are planning on crashing the economy, weakening the US dollar so hard and firing so many people and dismantling education, unions, and civil rights to the point which that labor in America will be so desperate to compete for jobs that they will take the new low cost and dangerous jobs in a desperate measure to make ends meet?

I honestly don’t know what the end game here is. Yes NAFTA and especially the deal that Trump signed in 2020 have hurt manufacturing in the US, especially auto. But unless we are willing to have our government provide a substantial amount of stimulus spend on factories the way China does…

I don’t see this playing out in the favor of the common worker.

  13. Them butchers are gone woke. Make Veganism Grate Uhgain!

  14. He will sell low until traffic starts to pick up due to expensive, imported meat. Then, he will raise prices due to demand.

  15. how much of US restaurant food comes from outside the US?? like what’s an accurate %?
