Wizz Air, a prominent European low-cost carrier, has announced a significant expansion of its operations in Moldova. The airline will introduce six new direct flights from Chișinău International Airport to various European destinations and add a third Airbus A320 aircraft to its Moldovan base, aiming to enhance connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options.

New Routes and Flight Details

Starting from late October 2025, the following routes will be available:​

Bari, Italy: Flights commencing on October 28, operating three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Germany: Flights starting on October 26, operating four times a week. ​Athens, Greece: New flights will be introduced, enhancing connectivity to Southern Europe. ​Maastricht, Netherlands: Direct flights to this Dutch city will be available, expanding Wizz Air’s network in Western Europe. ​Billund, Denmark: Flights to Denmark’s second-largest city will be introduced, providing more options for Scandinavian travel. ​Milan-Bergamo, Italy: Flights starting on October 26, operating four times a week. ​

These new routes are expected to operate with varying frequencies, with most routes offering three flights per week, while Milan-Bergamo and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden will have four weekly flights.

Fleet Expansion and Operational Enhancements

To support these additional routes and meet growing passenger demand, Wizz Air will base a third Airbus A320 aircraft at Chișinău International Airport starting October 26, 2025.

This expansion represents a substantial increase in capacity, adding over 360,000 seats annually compared to the previous year.
