  1. Oh the fallout from this is going to be… something.

  2. What a dipshit. He’s setting up to mess with Social Security payments.

  3. Yeah? Not the people who depend on getting their money? Emphasis on it being their money.

    Piece of shit.

  4. As someone whose check doesn’t even cover my rent: FUCK YOU.

  5. >At one point in the wide-ranging, nearly two-hour conversation, Lutnick also said that if Social Security “didn’t send out their checks this month,” his “mother-in-law, who’s 94, she wouldn’t call and complain.”

I wonder if his mother in law is living paycheck to paycheck even with social security like my grandmother? Something tells me she isn’t.

  6. Before she passed my grandmother was on a fixed income living social security check to social security check. A couple were late or missed so my dad or other relatives helped when needed. Without them she would have to have gone without food or wait on paying bills. So screw this guy.

  7. I think he got it exactly backwards. The *only* people who *might* not complain would be the criminals who know that they are defrauding social security. Everyone who depends on that money to pay for rent or groceries, would complain very loudly. The ones who have pitchforks or torches would take them to the demonstration. Others might take their guns.

  8. When you stop sending 80-year-olds the checks they rely on to live they won’t call, and if they do that are frauds? WTF is wrong with this ghoul?

  9. um, what?????? Pretty sure the millions of elderly living solely on Social Security will complain when you take it away from them.

  10. Actually fraudsters would not complain. They would not want to be identified.

The whole fraud thing and the use of fraud in sentences is the new “FU” by these people.

    Liars gonna lie.

  11. Yes. Take away something from people who have virtually nothing. Then give it back to them broken.

That’s always turned out well for dictators in the past. Even the Romans understood **BREAD** & Circuses.

  12. So Grandma who can’t buy groceries without her SS checks is now a fraudster?

  13. “At one point in the wide-ranging, nearly two-hour conversation, Lutnick also said that if Social Security “didn’t send out their checks this month,” his “mother-in-law, who’s 94, she wouldn’t call and complain.”

“She’d think something got messed up, and she’ll get it next month. A fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling and complaining,” the billionaire businessman said.

Does he really believe no one in America is living social security check to social security check? And even a few day delay could mean they don’t eat.

  14. no one but *checks the title* ‘fraudsters’ would complain about missed social security check

I’m sorry. we are going to need a heavy duty dump truck to hold me back. and I’ll still probably just drag it behind me.

let me at him. let me at him.

-yeah, try telling that to all of the people whose fucking HEALTH INSURANCE IS TIED TO THEIR FUCKING BENEFITS.

  15. The fucking privilege on display here 🙄 this MFer never had to worry about missing a check.

  16. Well I’m gonna complain as a 40-year-old disabled worker on SSDI with a disabled child. If they take food and shelter from me, I’m gonna start burning stuff.

  17. Taking or withholding a Social security check is fraud.

Wonder what he would say if Commerce Secretary did not get his check?

  18. I paid for my SS insurance for my entire life and regret that I am now disabled but let me tell you what. I am not going to be silent if Im going to be homeless, starving and experiencing hardcore poverty because of your ignorant bias!

  19. Disabled person on SSI here. I have full function of only one limb due to cerebral palsy.

I get $967 monthly. $250 of that goes to rent, which is only that low because I rent from family. $200 minimum goes to loan payments, which are the primary way that I have to make big purchases because part of the rules of SSI is that I can’t have over $2000 in assets at any time (loans don’t count, and I’m allowed 1 car and 1 house) otherwise my benefits immediately stop. Another $200 goes to taking care of expenses for my partner and child. That leaves me with $317 for food and other expenses each month.

SSI is my sole income as a disabled person. If that check stops coming, then my partner, myself, our child and my credit will all be fucked.

Fuck this motherfucker for suggesting it wouldn’t be a huge deal.

  20. I called the SSA on Monday and complained about not one, but two missing payments.

Two days later both payments were in my account.

I was shocked yet content at how efficiently they addressed my complaint.

But, does that also mean I’m a fraudster?

  21. My mom’s Social Security check pays for her…

    – Rent
    – Food

  22. What we have to do is stop sending money to someone who’s not hurt, who’s on disability for 50 years,”

This tells me he has no fucking clue how the system works as someone who is on SSI. It took years of medical documentation my doctors as well as doctors social security required me to see. It took years to get approved. And then every 3 years i have to reprove my disability again by jumping through a bunch of hoops

  23. Newsmax is running a show tonight about how Trump and Musk are out to take away social security. Hopefully it will go a fair way towards informing viewers what they voted for.

  24. I’m a physical therapist

Once, I told a sweet 78yr old woman who had fallen and broken her hip that she would need a walker. She asked how much it would cost, and out of pocket for her was $20.

She looked concerned, and told me she wasn’t sure she could swing that, because her social security was x dollars/month, and then she listed off every bill she typically paid, down to the cent mind you, and by my math she had about ten dollars left over each month.

Can I punch this guy? Is there a line?
