Princess Kate always seem to follow Royal protocol at every turn. She doesn’t wear colourful nail polish, is always groomed to perfection and she has a head for hats (and crowns).
The future Queen is exemplary in her appearance at every public appearance as she does her royal duties, and she has had some standout fashion moments like her gold Jenny Packham gown for the premiere of the James Bond film, No Time To Die.
If you were to ask us, Princess Kate always toes the line when it comes to her beauty look, but apparently, not always as she broke a very old royal rule for her wedding day look. What’s more, William actually approved of her decision too.

It has emerged that Princess Kate broke the royal rule by wearing her hair down after being ‘strongly advised’ to stick with tradition and wear it up. Apparently, she was determined to wear her hair loose and in curls as it’s her signature style.
Prince William approved of Kate’s decision as it’s his favourite too, and a kind of compromise was reached – Kate would wear her hair back to accommodate the late Queen’s tiara but her hair would be loose and in curls.

The news comes from a documentary on the pair, ‘William & Kate: The Journey’ which is on YouTube, and royal experts were quick to pick up on this quirky fact about Princess Kate.
Her stylist, James Pryce of the Richard Ward salon in Duke of York Square in London created the wedding day hair for Princess Kate and having had some makeup lessons before the big day, she did her own beauty look.

What was interesting about her makeup look was that she wore a Bobbi Bown Luxe Lipstick in the shade Sandwash Pink and has remained loyal to the satiny lip colour for years.
For whatever reason, the shade went viral in 2023, some 12 years after the royal wedding, but it is back in stock again at Brown Thomas for €41. We may not be royals like Princess Kate but we can wear some royal-approved lipstick like her.
