Viking introduces seven new sister ships for European rivers, offering unique itineraries across Germany, Switzerland and France, including festive Christmas markets.
This season, Viking is unveiling seven new sister ships designed for European rivers, each accommodating 190 guests or fewer. Along with these new ships, the company is launching three fresh itineraries alongside its beloved, popular routes.
Some key highlights for Viking’s 2025 Europe itineraries include:
Rhine and Main Explorer (11 days; Nuremberg – Basel): Journey through southern Germany, Switzerland, and France, visiting cities such as Basel, Frankfurt, and medieval towns in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.Christmas on the Rhine and Main (11 days; Nuremberg – Basel): Immerse yourself in the festive charm of Christmas markets in Basel, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg, and Nuremberg.Christmastime in Paris and Normandy (eight days; roundtrip from Paris): Enjoy the holiday season in Paris, explore Normandy’s Christmas markets, and experience the tranquil beauty of Rouen.
For 2026, Viking will expand its European river fleet with four additional ships and introduce four new Pre and Post Extensions. These extensions, lasting three or four nights, provide privileged access to museums, local cuisine, vineyard visits, cooking lessons, scenic train trips, and optional excursions.
