Rome Fiumicino wins Best Airport in Europe for 2024, marking its eighth straight victory and reinforcing Italy’s status as a top travel destination.

Rome Fiumicino crowned Europe’s top airport for 2024, marking eighth straight win

Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport, commonly known as Fiumicino, has once again been named the best airport in Europe for 2024 — maintaining its title for the eighth consecutive year. The accolade was awarded through the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI) in partnership with Amadeus.

Leading Europe’s busiest airports with record satisfaction scores

Fiumicino topped the list in the category for airports serving over 40 million passengers annually, standing out for the exceptional quality of services it provides to travelers. Scoring an impressive 4.61 out of 5, the airport ranked first among 119 European airports evaluated in the 2024 ASQ survey. It was also one of only two global hubs — alongside Singapore — to sweep all available award categories this year.

Recognition across continents for passenger experience

Handling nearly 50 million passengers in 2024, Fiumicino also earned the highest customer satisfaction rating among large airports (25 million+ passengers) across both the EMEA region and the Americas. This further solidifies its status as a global benchmark in airport excellence.

Ciampino also takes home top honors

Rome’s second airport, Ciampino–Giovan Battista Pastine, was also recognized, claiming the title of Best European Airport in the 2 to 5 million passenger category.

Multiple awards for service excellence

In addition to the top honor, Fiumicino earned top marks in several key categories:

Together, the dual wins for Fiumicino and Ciampino underscore Rome’s growing reputation as a hub of outstanding airport services and passenger experience.
