Not sure anyone (regardless of political persuasion) could have seen this coming a year ago.

  1. > The SNP is viewed as the best party for growth and investment among business in Scotland as Labour suffered a steep decline in support, a survey reveals.

I saw this the other day and nearly fell off my perch.

    > “Scottish Labour had been successfully building support among business over the last couple of years, but it now looks as if decisions made by the Labour government in Westminster are creating difficulties north of the border.

    > “This survey comes before measures such as the NI increase take effect, which may have a further impact on its standing. The Scottish government will be buoyed by the figures showing it remains in a strong and dominant position when it comes to representing the needs of Scottish business. However, Scottish Labour will be encouraged at being just two points behind on whose policies were best for Scotland.”

    Interesting times ahead…

  2. It’s almost like we’re a different country…..🤓

  3. A country with a parliament that appears to be open to investing in itself versus the UK which has 2 parties built solely around the concept that not spending money will magically make everyone better off.

I can only imagine why businesses might be finally getting tired of 16 years of continuous austerity.

  4. Unless Nicola comes back i presume.

At ready Forbes seems to care about the economy.

  5. It’s pretty terrible that labour and the Tories are sooooo rubbish that they make a mediocre party like the SNP look good, managerial competence, a safe haven from complete sold out scammers. I want to live in a country where the SNP are the worst party, not the most rational option.

To be clear I do like many SNP policies and they have some good politicians, they are however pretty middle of the road and uninspiring. Like an average European social democratic party, that is fine with selling assets to transnational finance, but have some decent social policies and aren’t totally caught up in culture wars. They tend to lean toward the neoliberal economic model, don’t take risks, not much new thinking, just small tweaks around the edges.
