I mean your invasion of Ukraine blocked your entire aviation market from European and US skies. A day off for Heathrow is nothing compared to what you pricks did to yourselves. Moscow airports now are practically all domestic
I don’t think anyone was thinking it.

Assassinations of people on our soil; aggression against out armed forces patrols; sabotage operations against our infrastructure; funding and coordinating attempts to interfere with our democratic processes and relations with our allies; arresting our citizens on made up charges when they visit Russia.
Russia has been at war with us for many years now. We should start acting like it.
Seize all their assets. Arrest and deport all their spies. Shut down their embassy. And FFS arrest the City bankers who launder their money for them.
It’s funny because by the time he’d said this the Telegraph (and others) had already started saying that it “had all the signs of Russian sabotage”.

Even if it is found to be sabotage by Russia. We can’t say that. We can know that and respond accordingly. I hope this investigation is very high level and kept secret. We can’t share intelligence with the USA anymore.

No pleasing some people. Either they’re being blamed too much or not enough.
There’s a process, let’s go through it. And, sabotage or not, it’s our own job to learn from the mistakes made and fix our piss poor resilience. Either way that isn’t a conversation that Russia is a part of.

Playing the victim when the leaders of Russia have said sabotage is a legitimate tactic for them. They are so pathetic it hurts. How can adults with so much power and money act like this. The Russians seem to be playing a game whereas everyone else’s wants to get on with living in a better world. The Russians just want to drag the west down to their level.
I’m gonna go off on a but of an aside here, because while Heathrow is debated to get an expansion, and while such a fire is rare that it knocks out all power and shuts the entire airport, surely it identifies that maybe we should invest in another airport that will be able to handle the same capacity that Heathrow carries, maybe one of the Northern airports with good transport links?
That way, flights would’ve been diverted there. People would have been inconvenienced but would’ve been easier to deal with.

As for Russia, we need to get GCHQ to ramp up anti-Russian propaganda tbh. Russian hackers, botnets and propaganda groups have been far more effectively conducting information warfare and winning it, and the West has collectively been naive and complacent.
so it was a provocation… they know the UK knows who did it and they want everyone to know they can get away with it. Well, the UK can wait to respond until the US gets its presidency back from Putin… or it could send Ukraine every arm they’ve got and permission and encouragement to use anywhere, especially Moscow

Medvedev is just a second tier troll these days, he shouldn’t be given the oxygen of media coverage.
It seems unlikely that this was sabotage, if you were targeting the airport you’d do so more directly. But now we’ve shown that this kind of thing can shut down the airport, I hope we’re doing more to protect other substations in adjacent suburbs.
If it was the Ruskys at least they didn’t kill anyone or down a plane
