I felt like sharing this because we’ve had quite a few discussions regarding overly lenient sentences here before and here’s yet another to add to the ever-growing pile.
If we want a safe and equal society the judiciary must take domestic violence seriously.
What?!
Wtf??
What’s even more sickening is there’s plenty of this, and worse, going unreported every day.
A disgrace that he got to walk.
>Mr Kelly also told the court that Rucinskas had previously served 15 years for murder in his native Lithuania and moved to Ireland in 2015 on his release
Sweet suffering Jesus
Why is this country so weak on *everything* to do with law and order?
‘Want to move here as a convicted murder? Come on in!’
‘Want to batter your wife to a pulp while you’re here? Fire away!’
Violence against women seems to be a theme of the pandemic.
I’m telling ye and nobody will listen. I’m convinced there’s no room in Irish prisons. Everyone is walking and the judges are lapping it up as most made their careers defending career criminals while sucking on the tit of legal aid.
Christ how does someone like that avoid jail??? Absolute madness
But if they noticed even a hint of weed, or two more paracetamol tabs than is normal in the house, he’d be looking at 20 years.
I always said you never know who’s walking in front of you or behind you on the street.
A lot of womens’ hearts sinking at this…

It’s bad enough he walks free, but if you avoid jail surely the victim should be compensated for her injuries, you get a hefty fine from running up a few toll charges.
Fucking country make’s me Sick
Working in a meat processing plant now. I’m sure that’ll do his noggin the world of good…
A Transit load of lads need to pay this chap a visit.
I’ve no van but I’m off tomorrow.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but it says he already served 13 months in custody, so, imprisoned, correct? He then got a further suspended sentence but avoided further jail time, as the DPP had requested.

If only he’d had a small amount of cannabis on him at the time of arrest, he’d have seen jail.
Unfortunately you are considered racist if you think that violent criminals shouldn’t be allowed to immigrate to Ireland. Surely we have enough shitheads without importing more?
Doesn’t seem right.
Call me old fashioned but convicted murders shouldn’t be allowed in the country
I’m in shock. Surely there are people in this country who know there horrendous behaviour can can pretty much unpunished. Prison time is a punishment but mainly a deterrent.
I’m pro immigration, I’m pro EU but the fact this fucker was able to murder someone and freely enter a different country without at least getting a visa is incredibly dumb.
Seems sound
But if they caught him with 2g of weed, he’d be in jail for life…
