War with Russia? Finland has a plan for that

  1. The Finnish army’s sole purpose since the end of the civil war has been to defend against Russia, so if there wasn’t a plan that’d be severely disappointing.

I mean, it’s called the Defense Forces and an invasion from Sweden hasn’t been on the cards for a good long while.

  2. Sweden and Finland adopted a common “Total defence” solution according to a German doctrine after the WW2 that involved a common defence planing between the countries. In Sweden had the (“Totalförsvaret”) Total defence an impact on everything in the entire society. Everything was adopted to be able to withstand an attack from Soviet. Sweden even had a alternative currency distributed all over the country so that it could be used if an attack would harm the monetary system.

The Swedish and Finnish model for Total Defence was introduced in Ukraine after 2014.

  3. With the proliferation of small deadly rockets, has Finland built up a stockpile? It seems to me that in every war everyone underestimates the rate of ammo consumption.
