  11. At first I was not calling for him to resign, but his brother is a partner at the law firm that just bent the knee for Trump and is paying with 40 million in free work for Trump.

    Yeah there is an issue here and I think Chuck bent to help his brother and it might have been part of the deal.

  12. I mean, I can see what his thought process was on this. Americans HATE shutdowns, and get pissed at the party (essentially just Republicans) who cause them, plus it would give Rs the excuse to pin all of the issues caused by the DOGE disruption on the Dems. BUT, there was obviously a plan made with the House Dems to hold the line and try and push for concessions, even to the point of causing a shutdown, and he didnt follow through with that. Dem groups are well within their rights to be pissed off and calling for his head.

  36. Call/email your senators. It takes literally 3 minutes to contact both. Tell them to replace Schumer as minority leader. They could do it tomorrow if they wanted to. We need real leadership not feckless capitulation.

    It doesn’t matter if Chuck doesn’t want to step down if his fellow Dem senators vote to replace him. Make them want to take that action.

  39. I don’t fault Schumer for the budget showdown, there simply wasn’t any levererage there.

    What I do fault S for is the absence of leadership. You can tell his instincts are to count voters in the Senate and build consensus. But we need actual leadership right now, someone who is willing to speak out forcefully about the corruption and dismantling of our government. It speaks very poorly to Schumer that he had scheduled a book tour in the middle of a period of a) peak legislative activity (if the Dems won) or b) when shit would be really, really hitting the fan (if Trump won).

    I went through my emails from democrats and the DNC. I unsubscribed, and they give a box to comment as to why. I said I won’t be donating to the DNC until Schumer steps down.

    That’s what’s going to work, if we can boycott target we can use that same power to force change in the party.
