In the first leg, Ukraine won 3-1. Belgium took a 1-0 lead into the half thanks to a goal from Belgium’s all-time highest goalscorer Romelu Lukaku, but the second half was all Ukraine.

In the 66th minute, Oleksiy Hutsulyak tied the match up for Ukraine, with Vladyslav Vanat giving it the lead in the 73rd minute. Ukraine added another goal to pad its lead heading into the second leg when Illya Zabarnyi scored in the 78th minute.

Meanwhile, Belgium finished third in Group A2 with one win, one draw, and four losses, avoiding relegation because it had a better goal differential than Israel. France and Italy tied for the group win, with France taking it on goal differential.

Ukraine was runner-up in Group B1, winning twice while drawing twice and losing twice. The Czech Republic won the group while Georgia was third and Albania fourth.
