  1. Easily one of the best art galleries in the world.

  2. If it wasn’t a cliquey and nepotistic place the exhibitions would probably be even better!

  3. They should put the light back on the top of the chimney

  4. It hasn’t utterly changed the face of anything.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve nothing against it – but that’s a wild claim.

  5. Love the Tate Modern. So nice on a sunny day, a little walk around and a visit to the Tate ❤️

  6. Indeed, the face of London is much the more ugly for it.

To be serious, I’m not one of those “all modern art is shit” types. But the National Gallery and Tate Britain are far better.

  7. I lived there before the Tate opened and you could count the people walking along the river there on one hand. With the Globe the whole area has improved incredibly. The Tate has been a bonus for the area . Plus most of its free too

  8. The combination of it, the London Eye and the Jubilee Line extension opening in 2000 completely shifted the centre of gravity for London towards the river and made the South Bank feel a part of busy central London. With the Millennium Bridge and City Hall opening a year or so later made that whole stretch from Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge a tourist hotspot that continues to the present day.

  9. It’s not my cup of tea, but it has done a fantastic job of helping kickstart the revitalisation of that area.

  10. I worked there when it first opened and I remember going to do karaoke with the other gallery attendants

Also some page 3 bird flashed her tits in the gallery to get a risky photo
