according to [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Belgian_citizens) page on Wikipedia, Belgian citizens are allowed to stay in Canada for up to 6 months per year. Does this mean that you guys can theoretically live in Canada for up to 6 months every year and not require some sort of a permit? Is it even legal to do that?

As you guys can guess, my passport isn’t really as powerful as a Belgian passport, and that’s why I am curious.
Please don’t crucify me if you guys find this question a bit stupid. thanks <3
Yes
You’d need a work permit I’d guess… But otherwise, no you wouldn’t need a special visum
It’s not considered “living” if you’re there up to 6 months – the law entertains the possibility that you may be there on extended holiday.
Obviously a holiday doesn’t always stretch to 6 months’ time, but the line between “holiday” and “living” had to be drawn *somewhere*, right?
But, on the other hand, if you *know* you’re going to be in Canada uninterrupted for anything greater than 6 months, then yes, you’d need some sort of authorization.
I did my Erasmus in Canada and could go and study there without a visa. If you want to work, then you need a visa.
