​Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl
President Donald Trump announced that he invited the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIV victory, which was canceled due to the Covid pandemic. The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in February 2020 in Miami Gardens, Florida. However, shortly after the win, the sports world was shut down as the pandemic spread globally, and the planned visit to the White House was postponed.

In an interview with OutKick’s Clay Travis on Sunday, Trump shared that he had invited the Chiefs to the White House, explaining, “We’re gonna have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID.” Trump also mentioned the Eagles, saying, “I look forward to having the Eagles,” referring to the team’s upcoming visit.

This announcement came before the Eagles were also scheduled to visit. The Philadelphia Eagles, who defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, are set to visit the White House on April 28. The date of Chiefs’ White House visit is not known yet.

The Eagles’ visit will mark a shift from the 2018 Super Bowl celebration when the team, after winning the championship against the New England Patriots, did not visit the White House. This decision followed a public feud between NFL players and President Trump over athletes kneeling during the national anthem. According to Trump, the Eagles’ invite was initially extended, but tensions led to its retraction.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed this month that the Eagles had accepted the invitation and would be visiting the White House on April 28, addressing any rumors of a canceled invitation.
