thermal blankets work, but only in limited ways. looks like we’re seeing how they don’t.
You can see how they almost work, they probably help prevent acquisition in the first place, but once acquired you’re still fucked.
Ooof. That first one. Right in the middle of all four of them clumped together. No spacing whatsoever.
It seems to me that both sides find it nearly impossible to hide their IR image from the drones w/IR cameras. And it seems to me that the single best thing that can be done in that situation is to saturate the area with FALSE heat signatures.
Figure out what a human IR signature looks like under a thermal blanket. And then just set troops out with the mission to plant blankets with fake heat signatures under them that mimic a real human. That’d make both sides waste bombs and drones on false positives.
