The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) is warning on social media about text messages sent by scammers asking people to immediately report their nearest shelters. If you receive such messages, you should not click on the attached link, the public is warned.
Kozlovskis said that the police will look for the fraudsters. He stressed that such a fraud cannot be called a joke, as it touches on a sensitive topic. The minister said that he will do everything possible to catch the fraudsters.
The minister described the incident as “disinformation” while LTV described the perpetrators as “thieves” but it was not clear how precisely they hoped to enrich themselves by means of the scheme.
