A sign has appeared on the building announcing that the German supermarket giant will be “coming soon”.
It confirms weeks of speculation after eagle-eyed shoppers spotted signs at the back of the car park which stated that only “Aldi contractors” can enter it.

It currently has a large store at Century Retail Park in Dalton Way and had offered a finders fee for anyone who identified a suitable Hertfordshire location last year.

It stated that the opening will come after n “extensive fit-out programme” and the combination of the former Iceland and Laser Planet units.
Iceland permanently closed in October 2023, while Laser Planet shut its doors in July 2024.
