The amount of Russian diplomats in ireland relative to the size and importance of our country is crazy. They’re intelligence agents, mostly.
I guess the were listed on the leaked list of FSB agents
They still have one of the largest diplomatic missions in the country. I’m not sure why we don’t expel 20 more as they are certainly all spooks.
If their incompetence in Ukraine is anything to go by then US must know what’s going in and out of the place. Happy to keep it that way.
Don’t let the gate hit you on the way out …. Oh, wait….
It’s going to be an unpopular opinion but I’m grateful it’s just 4 staff and that it doesn’t include the ambassador. My wife and I are in a shit situation where we’re still trying to get her permanent visa for Ireland. This means that the Irish embassy will hold her passport for several months. Due to this I’ll be needing to go to Russia during this time to visit her. Sadly since the war began its next to impossible to contact the Russian embassy to try and get a new multi entry visa for me.
Before the war, I only had good experiences with the staff there. The ones I encountered were lovely people and I’m sure still are but can only operate within in the restrictions of the lads higher up the chain.
With all that said, I really don’t know what’s been going on in the embassy but the sheer amount of staff and lack of details of their specific roles would suggest some sort of espionage. It’s a strange situation to say the least.
Most of the embassy staff are SVR agents, and also known to Irish security services.
Weird that they are using protests to show it is popular, has that ever worked for any other embassy? Isn’t that the dreaded ‘populism’ they’re always on about?
Dirty rat shpies.
Kinda class though, there were actual Russian spies doing spying on us.
