  3. I am amazed that DeJoy remains in his post after all this time, considering he owns a competitor, and one of his first acts was to order the removal of the automatic mail sorting machines, which made the USPS less efficient.

  4. the USPS is essential for millions. instead of weakening it, they should focus on improving efficiency and investing in its future.

  8. Taxes should be used for our citizens to have great infrastructure, food, healthcare, shelter and education. The reason for profit entities do not work in a government system is because corporations will almost always do the wrong thing to benefit the profit margin. Like not letting prisoners out or detainees kept in cages so they get more profit. Millions of dollars going to corporations running nursing homes are a prime example. If the fines were shock and awe along with CEO’s and CFO’s facing manslaughter charges for killing their patients we would have an answer for their families. But nooo, President Trump(PoopyPants) gets to golf every weekend while destroying EVERYTHING?! FT and F Elon and the Felon! Putin is running Amerika now.

  9. MANY small businesses (like myself) rely on the USPS. I think a lot of people don’t understand how important it is. Trump will WRECK so many small businesses. I don’t think our government wants us to be able to work for ourselves and not one of their buddy CEOs big corporations. Is fucked

  10. The people who demand the post office be profitable seem to conveniently forget the military is unprofitable.

  11. USPS has to prefund pensions and healthcare that no other corporation does. It makes the losses appear bigger.

  13. As a performance anecdote, I shipped two packages three states away at 5pm on Saturday. They are both out for delivery as of today. That’s 2-day shipping over the weekend using USPS’s Ground Advantage. Had I used UPS, the packages would have sat at a facility until this morning and then they’d start moving through the network.

    USPS isn’t without issues. But, all things considered, they are in my experience more reliable, faster, and easier to deal with than UPS or FedEx. They have paid every single claim we’ve filed to boot.

  16. the USPS suffers financially because they were deliberately hamstrung via requiring them to fund their pensions for the next 75 years in advance.

    additionally its not meant to make money. its not the US Postal Corporation. its the US Postal *Service*.

  18. I am sure there will no longer be an option for media mail which helps keep small mail order companies in business. Also the price of all media especially postage for books will be extremely high and cost prohibitive for many small businesses.
