Under-30s pay the highest price for the UK’s cost-of-living crisis

  1. “Thats good, they mostly vote for grotty lefty parties anyway.” – Tories

Remember, as long as it isn’t affecting their base they genuinely do not give a shit. If retired broker 70 year old Charles in his 4 bed detached Surrey bungalow had something adversely affect him, or a billionaire, then the help couldn’t come fast enough.

But the young, the low paid, renters, the disabled? Crickets every time.

  2. Under 30s have always gotten the shit end of the stick, at least in my experience. Ridiculous and really think there’s going to be a breaking point soon with costs going through the roof.

  3. And for everything. All to the benefit of the wealthy old. (by which I mean that subset of the old who are wealthy)

The sooner everyone wakes up and realises this the better.

  4. Millennials have hit a celling on what they can spend and have been for years. This is a serious economic crisis in itself that governments haven’t realised yet (or don’t care about)

That’s why Millennials aren’t having children, arent buying houses, aren’t buying wine, are “killing” all the other industries you see headlines about. They can’t afford anything just when they should be spending the most they ever do in their lives (oldest Millennials are now in their 40’s).

That’s bad news for people and bad news the economy especially in the long run.

  5. Governments and industries complain we do not spend, even though affording the basics can be hard for many. Spending on treats and luxuries is about to evaporate with the current cost increases for under 30s, yet we will still be told to go out and spend to save businesses from the effects of COVID. The government must be desperate for another debt crisis.

  6. If Smith is repaying student loans, shared house paying just £450/month rent, shouldn’t they be doing pretty well?

I know when I was renting my rent was that high but I was earning less than half the student repayment threshold.

Honestly that was actually quite a fun time in my life due to making friends with the people I was sharing with.

Sure the house was a shithole, fridge didn’t work. Electrical arcing sounds from one of the plugs. Microwave time and shower temp dials were only a suggestion.

  7. We should be doing everything we can to emigrate. People (especially in uk) always say “oh yeah the grass is always greener lol” but it legit is these days.
