  1. “We need to focus our net zero funding on what matters most to Islanders,” said Environment, Energy, and Climate Action Minister Gilles Arsenault in a news release. “I encourage anyone looking at purchasing an electric vehicle to consider purchasing from a dealership with a local presence here in PEI or in the Maritimes.”

I love this. Let’s hope Musk goes bankrupt as soon as possible.

  2. I would pay money to hear someone shout ‘WHO’S YA FODDA NOW ELON?’

  3. Good riddance, PEI to make a Canadian alternative powered by potato batteries instead.

  4. Good news overall, but won’t make much of a difference in Tesla’s bottom line. The entire province’s population is only around 150,000. That’s like one medium sized suburban town in the US stopping a rebate.

  5. This is good news but I bet there’s like 2 telsas on that entire island

  6. live by Musk and die by Musk.

TSLA stock exploded under Musk and his public charm. and now the charm is gone, TSLA has a lot of room to drop when Musk premium is valued at $0.

  7. I hope Canada is still investigating the slew of Tesla “bought” at the last minute as the rebates expired. Follow the money, eh.

  8. It’s almost like being a jerk has consequences.

  9. It’s pathetic how the masses can be manipulated into changing their thinking with a suggestion.

  10. Trump wanted to destroy electric vehicles until he got $250million in donations from One MF.

  11. I mean I don’t disagree with the policy, but it’s probably like 6 cars affected.

  12. What is the actual specific clause that is precluding Tesla’s from qualifying for a rebate now? Is it the lack of a local PEI dealership? I’m totally ok with that as a good clause for the Province to have, but it does kinda feel weird to me to see various jurisdictions using these technicalities to do a sort of sideways ban on Teslas when IMO I think we should be talking about a federal ban on their sale considering that Elon the owner of brand is a real threat to our national sovereignty.

  13. Tiny part of Canada that no one outside of Canada gives a shit about lol.

  14. According to Google:

    > > The US is PEI’s largest export market, with exports to the US representing a substantial portion of the province’s total international trade.
    > > Key Export Sectors:
    > > Agriculture and Agri-food: PEI is known for its potato production, and the US is a major destination for PEI potatoes.
    > > Seafood: Frozen lobster and other seafood products are also significant exports to the US.
    > > Bioscience: The bioscience sector, including pharmaceutical and health-related products, is growing and contributing to trade with the US.
    > > Trade Value:
    > > In 2023, PEI’s exports to the US were valued at about $1.7 billion, out of the total $2.4 billion in international exports.
    > > Other Trading Partners:
    > > While the US is the primary trading partner, PEI also exports to other countries, including France, Belgium, Germany, and Japan.
    > > Economic Impact:
    > > Trade with the US is crucial for PEI’s economy, supporting jobs and economic growth.

    That’s interesting.

  15. Not to mention ‘someone’ is trying to pull a huge fraud making massive claims for EV rebates for extremely huge sales of Tesla cars that never happened.
