We brought a house with a telephone box and we don’t want it. Looking online the value is so different everywhere we look. Knowing Reddit they’ll be someone somewhere with this niche knowledge.

Isn’t solid metal too? It’s got to be super heavy…
Probably about 950pcm in London, unfurnished.
When I see a dirty old phone box, the movie La Cabina springs to mind and the time it was accidently shown in the morning during the summer holidays. Nightmares for months.
I’d let the market decide. Its in poor condition and if its an original will be very heavy and hard/expensive to transport, more so if you live in the middle of jo where. Put it in auction with a reserve if you like and see what happens. You might want to figure out the scrap value as your reserve price.
i’d rent it out for £20 an hour and let some couples live out their fantasy in private
Why would you not want a telephone box in your garden?
My dad knew someone who bought emptied a barn full of stuff like this and he sold the lot to a movie prop company.
Someone will buy it or it could be used as a project
I imagine it would be like trying to sell a piano, lovely as they are, you will struggle to find the right customer
My idea would be to use it as community arcade machine and to have a swipe card to register scores
I think other people have used them as libraries or just a place to share books
My other idea is if you have a youth club, it could be potentially fitted out to be a recording booth, but that would be tricky to do
Ignore this, ah didn’t read the description
Only other kind of useful thing I can think of is maybe convert it into a bike rack
This is awesome. I’d turn it into a garden gate, bro OP this is a gem.
I shifted this one – Valued at £2000-2500. Sold for £1400 I think. Not fun to move.

I used to refurb these when I was self-employed, at a reclamation yard, back in the 90’s. The going rate back then was just over a grand for a refurbed one (sand-blasted, repainted, wooden door (some models) repaired if needed and new perspex panels), so probably about £2-3k today?
In your case, it needs a lot of work, so I’d be tempted to ring round any local reclamation yards to find out their prices, and maybe offer to sell if they don’t try to give you a daft price.
Bout tree fiddy
Take it on ‘Repair Shop’, say it was your nans, and get them to fix it up.
My nursery are looking for a free telephone box to create a community library, if you want to get rid of it to a good cause
Cut it in half and count the rings 😉
They’ll be worth much more if they’re in good condition of course. I used to work for someone who bought one, but he had it all shot-cleaned which wrecked the door as it’s wood. They used to sell glazing kits for old phone boxes back then.
Great for Summer parties if you need a quick wizz – just add a WHB and a towel.

“Project” ones go for £1950. I’d start there.
Man, I’d love an outside urinal.
Is it still wired in or is that the previous owner’s doing? If it’s still connected you’ll have to contact BT first and get them to come out and disconnect it.
You can actually buy a decommissioned K6 from BT’s reseller X2connect starting at £3200, so that should give you an idea of the price, but theirs are restored to a high standard. The crown is quite interesting though, as what you’ve got is a Tudor crown which was used from 1935 until 1953 when Elizabeth II replaced all representations of the crown with St Edward’s crown. Whilst models with the Tudor crowns aren’t exactly rare, this would make it worth more than a newer model with the St Edward’s crown.
If you do want to sell it could probably do with a fresh coat of paint and the colours you’re looking for are currant red and k6 gold paint. You can buy the right paint from x2connect.
the-telephone-box.co.uk might be worth getting in touch with as they may be able to provide you with a more detailed history of your specific model.
I am extremely jealous of you, I’d absolutely love to own a K6 and restore it to its former beauty.
At auction houses in the last few years they’ve sold for anything from £600 – £3000. The condition looks poor, though.
Moving them is the pain.
It’s a bit past it’s prime but I’d drop my draws and give it a go, I’m sure it’s serviceable enough
