  1. Trump’s funding cuts put the future of Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe and Voice of America — and, by extension, the future of free press — at risk. Launched 70 years ago to break through totalitarian censorship, Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe remains the only source of truthful information in some of the 23 countries where it operates.

Today, we explore how dictatorships have tried to silence RL/RFE over the decades.

Since the full-scale invasion began, supporting our team and gathering donations has become more challenging as we, like everyone else in Ukraine, focus on fundraising for our defenders. Now, we turn to you—the international community and supporters of Ukraine—to help us continue producing vital stories that not only support Ukraine’s fight against invasion but also remind the world of the value of freedom.

  2. USSR spent like 3 million rubles a year trying to jam/obstruct RFE, before they finally threw in a towel in 1988.

Some serious State apparatus resources were employed beforehand, which just shows how afraid they were of its influence.

On a funny note, there was a whole series of jokes about our country’s secret police ineptitude in trying to obstruct their broadcasts.

  3. 🙏💪🇺🇦🙏💪🇺🇦🙏💪🇺🇦 I can only hope that Trumps decision is somehow reversed.
