I never understood the complaints about European national teams having too many “African” players. Our ancestors colonized those people, and now their descendants want to play for us and represent our/their nation. This is the ultimate colonial win. Wasn’t it because it was one of the best 6 nations in ages and it came down to the last day and then the French national team were playing in nations League games that don’t mean anything. Compare world cup to world cup or euros to 6 nations and see the difference.
Probably the same in England, who wants to watch England lumber to wins against Albania and Latvia in comparison to where they can watch us smash the Welsh and beat the French.

Rugby is the 10th most popular sport in France and comparing a nations league match against a six nations one is pretty silly. As in Ireland and probably other countries rugby fans massively over estimate its popularity due to it being highly concentrated in certain social circles as opposed to spread evenly throughout society.
I dont know what they are comparing it at the moment. But of course it’s going to beat soccer at the moment, the Six Nations is on, which is one of Rugby’s biggest annual events.
Also as someone noted. There’s many black players in the French team, picture is cropped
France once declared parts of the Maghreb as official “part of the motherland” and now wonders where all the African looking Pierres come from
