  1. >only myself to blame

So you saw something expensive enough to bitch about on Reddit…proceeded to buy it…and then bitch about it on Reddit?

What reaction is it you’re looking for here?

  2. I dunno what’s more tiresome, the inflation or the obligatory ‘lads, the boom is back’ trope for every post of a fkin chicken roll or sandwich, or the inevitable responses telling OP how they can save money buying it at home or how we can all ‘vote with our wallets’ and choose not to buy it in hopes they will stop taking the piss (they won’t)

If you’ve seen one of these posts you’ve seen them all

  3. Prets are for when you’re in a rush in that London.

    Otherwise they can go jump!

  4. Can we ban posts about expensive things being expensive?

  5. In fairness those saying “Shouldn’t have bought it” are right but have been caught out a few times around Dublin, you only get so long to go buy food before you have to be back at work so not everyone has the freedom or time to go elsewhere

  6. Everything in Pret is half price in the last hour before they close. It’s the only time I’ll go in😂

  7. Would you like to sit down and eat your 3 euro 25 cent half a sambo? That’ll be 45c please, sir.

  8. Pret is different in that all their sandwiches are made (in store?) the day of trading. Places like Costa and Starbucks are made several counties over and are kept in the fridge for a few days.

From a marketing perspective, that does warrant a little bump in price for the actual cost of doing that, its a luxury item at that stage, but also from a marketing perspective the whole concept of selling half a sandwich is bizarre, the full sandwich version of this would be €5/€6 but no one would really notice a sandwich for that price, not cheap but again made fresh daily.

Selling half a sandwich for almost €4 just comes off as miserly and cheap.

  9. If it was €6.50 for a full sandwich you probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid tbh. Prepacked sandwiches like Freshways in Spar, Centra, Dunnes wherever are €5-6. Airports and Train stations etc.. are always that bit dearer, as are chains like Pret, Costa, Starbucks etc..

I personally like the option of half a sandwich if Im not that hungry or I want to go half and half!

  10. Ah it’s been here a long time now, did you come out of a coma lately? Look no one is making you buy it so don’t buy it. These posts man !!!!

  11. But during the boom, I remember everything being cheap. Am I remembering incorrectly?

  12. I’m generally just happy to see a product that doesn’t contain soy now a days, expensive or otherwise.

  13. Mmmmh dry bread with dry chicken and dry salad. Probably dry mayo too lol.

  14. You “found” it?

It’s always been like that there.

  15. Pret, the double edged sword. Decent quality food and they are a legitimate good business that does donate their waste and do pay their sources well, but on the other hand it’s pricing is extortionate to the consumer. For what it’s worth, they’re not so different in the UK either.

  16. Pret fucking disgusting.

No idea why people go there, such a massive rip

  17. Thx god you made picture of it on shelf not receipt, they would eat you here for purchase and making price comments! Phew! You can’t buy and complain, it’s not allowed!
