Hei,
Asking for some advice here, because when we called Vero helpline, we didn't get a definitive response, and were mainly asked to read more on the website.
We (wife and I) non-Finnish have moved out of Finland after living for a few years. Wife had forgotten to declare some foreign income for a previous year and so she honestly made a correction and declared it. But the problem is, it is taking too long for Vero to process it and make a backtax demand and we waiting eagerly to pay it off.
We have moved out of Finland and will loose our online banking login at some point because the bank account needs to be closed for some reason. We are concerned that when they make the backtax demand, we might miss it and it will count as a criminal record.
So she thought she would just make an advance payment on OmaVero now itself using this guide.
- If we pay using this method, when the tax demand eventually comes, will they automatically take it from whatever we've paid?
- If we end up paying extra using this method, will they refund it?
- Should we select "Self-assessed taxes" or "Income tax" while making the payment if it is for a personal income tax income? I think "self-assessed tax" is for businesses, please correct if wrong.
Kiitos.
