Social Security Chief Says White House Ordered ‘Rapid’ Phone Service Cutbacks

   I have an elderly mom who no longer drives. She doesn’t have the internet. I have driven her to a local Social Security Office, the ones they’re closing, when they made a mistake they needed to fix. It took three hours to wait in line. This was after she gave up on the phone after holding for two hours. Now they’re cutting more phone service.

   Trump said he would not cut Social Security. But they are in a death by a thousand cuts cycle right now, kneecapping Social Security and making it difficult for people, the elderly, the disabled, to get services. People in rural areas who have no access will be hit particularly hard.

   Our country, I believe, is under attack from within economically. There are theories as to why this is happening. Some people say Trump is just inept. This is part of it. His chaotic style is a wrecking ball. But I believe the main goal is still to dismantle as much of the government and critical services as possible – we saw the Homeland Secretary yesterday say they’re eliminating FEMA; good luck during the next disaster – to try and pay for Trump’s next round of tax cuts. Musk’s slash and burn of thousands of federal employees was not enough to pay for their tax cuts.

   You also have the Heritage Foundation that wants to remake the government as they outlined in Project 2025, to “assemble an army of conservatives to go to work on Day One to deconstruct the Administrative State”, consolidate and put the entire executive branch under the direct control of the president under Article II of the Constitution. Basically they want a dictatorship. Watching them hand executive orders ripped out of Project 2025, as Trump sat at the Oval Office desk, day one and nonchalantly sign the orders, saying “What’s this? Oh yeah, that’s a good one” was mind blowing.

3. What would be the reason to focus on rapid phone service cutbacks…especially if it’s a direct order from the White House? 

4. The White House is using Star Link now. So we can give Elmo more money. Along with the fiber optic system that was installed. Anybody want to bet Putin is listening in on those little satellites.

5. There’s no reason for this other than to slowly, but surely kill Social Security, a Republican dream since the 1930s.
