Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were captured on video asking Disney bosses for acting work six months prior to their infamous Megxit.

Harry “Hustled” Disney Bosses To Score Meghan Voiceover Work

Rediscovered footage shows the Sussexes at a royal engagement at the premiere of The Lion King in London in July 2019, with Harry pleading with the film’s director to offer Meghan voiceover work.

Prince Harry added his little quip, “Just not Scar,” who was the evil uncle in the film who tried to steal the kingdom from Simba.

In another clip, Harry was seen asking Disney CEO Bob Iger whether he knew that Meghan had done voiceovers. It was a major embarrassment to the royal family.

Iger responded uncomfortably, “Uh. I did not know that.” Harry kept pushing the proposition no one asked for, “She’s really interested,” he exclaimed. “That’s really why we’re here; it’s the pitch!” Meghan admitted.

The Disney boss politely feigned interest, “We’d love to try. That’s a great idea.” The couple were obviously quite persuasive, probably to the point of harassment, because months later, sources revealed that Meghan signed a voiceover agreement with the Walt Disney Company.

She made the deal in trade for a donation to Elephants Without Borders, a wildlife and nature conservation charity dedicated to preserving wildlife and protecting elephants from poachers.

It’s certainly an admirable cause, but knowing Meghan, the deal was made for self-serving reasons. Her narration work was featured in the documentary “Elephant,” which was released on Disney+ in April 2020.

The documentary followed the journey of an elephant family across Africa. It sounds perfectly lovely. However, it was seen as a ploy for publicity during a time when they were supposed to focus on their royal obligations.

Harry And Meghan Were Still Working Royals

At the event, Meghan was seen trying to “befriend” and hug Beyonce. It was an awkward moment. Elton John was also at the premiere.

Harry’s pleas to include Meghan in a Disney project, any project, seemed desperate. The clips were shown in January 2020 after the Sussexes stepped down as working royals.

The rub was that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were still working royals when this conversation took place. Was it their plan all along to chase fame by any means necessary? Harry and Meghan announced their grand plans to become “financially independent.”

At the time, royal fans and media outlets surmised that Harry and Meghan might use their royal status to benefit charitable causes. The true story isn’t quite as pretty.

Shortly after their Megxit, sources revealed that Harry and Meghan signed their obscene $100 million dollar deal with Netflix.

Not long after that, they formed a partnership with Spotify, which was an epic disaster. Everything they have tried to do since they left the royal family has failed miserably.

One has to wonder if, after her brief time in the royal family, whether Meghan missed her time as an actress. She certainly enjoyed the attention.

It didn’t take long for Piers Morgan to blast the clip of them at the Lion King premiere, saying that Harry was “hustling” the Disney boss to score his wife’s voiceover work. Looking back, Harry and Meghan had their sights set on Hollywood long before Megxit.
