    25% import tax aka tariff on fertilizer from Russia.

  5. It’s pretty obvious why Trump is doing this: it’s so that he can sidestep any fallout from his tariffs on Canada.

  6. One of the greatest “imports” into Saskatchewan has been (for many generations) Ukrainian farmers. There is a significant portion of the population that is of Ukraine descent. Ukrainian is a very common language there. Ukrainian flags fly in the provincial capital.

    The reason so many Ukrainian farmers have gone to Saskatchewan, I was told , is that farming techniques are very similar because of the similar climate in both countries.

    So now the shit has gotten real in Saskatchewan, a threat to potash which is a big export and a threat to Ukraine. I hope we see Saskatchewan start to really stand up to Trump.
