We should really be able to hold MPs and political parties to account for not doing their job or upholding promises made in manifestos.
People voted Labour ‘for change’ and they have seen fuck all change. Arguably, Labour’s actions have been MORE severe than those of the Tories.
I don’t get away with it if I just don’t go to work, so why should these guys?
I’m not sure missing a Westminster Hall Debate is the slam-dunk they seem to think it is – whilst a good avenue to speak on certain issues, they are pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of Westminster business. On a par with APPG business I’d say – not surprised he prioritised the APPG.
Speaks a lot about Leishman that this is the only dirt they’ve been able to dig up to try and shame him with.

It’s really weird that a six month old story about Leishman not being able to turn up to an economy debate is being leaked to the press [days after he criticised Labour’s attacks on the disabled](https://www.reddit.com/r/Scotland/comments/1jd9vdm/why_labour_cuts_to_disability_benefits_would_be/) and [pointed out that many would die as a consequence](https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/scottish-labour-welfare-cuts-5025494). You would probably need the Scottish equivalent of the flying squad to catch the sort of internal party operator who would do something like that – the McSweeney.
