Hi, last week I received this letter from Finanzamt. They are asking for a receipt of my parental allowance (at least that’s what I understand).

But I haven’t received anything as parental allowance. I have my job and worked for the whole year.

I suspect I have somehow an error in my tax return that I have submitted earlier this year (by Taxfix)

Now, my question is how should I respond to Finanzamt that I don’t have a receipt and I didn’t receive anything. Only thing could be that this is an error on my end or their end.

  1. Give the case worker a call or visit the tax office during their public hours.

  2. so you didn’t do Elternzeit in 2024? cause that’s what they are asking for. you usually get a letter that tells you exactly how much money they will give you during that time.

    if this was part of your tax declaration you should really check what you submitted

  3. It is the amount that you’ve paid to your parents to support them financially. Check the relevant field that you’ve filled out.

    Not something that you received.
